Privacy policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
Pray with don Bosco is built to work without collecting your personal data. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking. This policy explains what the app stores and where.
Data the developer collects
None. The app does not send your name, favorites, prayer intentions or usage to the developer or to any third party, and it contains no analytics or advertising software.
Data stored on your device and in iCloud
The name you choose to be greeted by, your favorite sayings, your reminder time and your other settings are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, your name and favorites are also saved in your own iCloud account so they appear on all your devices.
Your prayer intentions are stored on your device and, if iCloud is turned on, in your private iCloud database. The text of each intention is end-to-end encrypted, so only you can read it on your own devices. Neither the developer nor Apple can read it.
iCloud data is held by Apple under your Apple Account, and the developer cannot access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Widgets, Spotlight, Siri and Shortcuts
The Word of the Day widgets read your favorites and settings from storage shared with the app on your device. Sayings, dreams and prayers are added to the Spotlight index on your device so you can search for them. None of this leaves your device.
Your oratory's calendar
If you add a calendar link in Settings, the app downloads that calendar directly from the address you entered, at most every half hour while you use the app, and keeps a copy of the upcoming events on your device. Like any web request, this lets the calendar's host see your device's IP address. The link and the events are never sent to the developer. Remove the link in Settings to stop this.
Ask Don Bosco and read-aloud
Answers in Ask Don Bosco are written on your device by Apple Intelligence, using the app's own content. Your questions are not sent to the developer. Read-aloud uses the voices built into iOS and runs on your device.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled on your device. No push notification service or server is involved.
Sharing
When you share a saying, the app creates an image and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you choose where to send it.
Links
The app links to the website of the Salesians of Don Bosco. If you open it, that website's own privacy policy applies.
Diagnostics
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide anonymised crash reports and usage statistics to the developer. You can change this in Settings under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.
Deleting your data
You can delete intentions and remove favorites in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Account Storage, and delete the data for Don Bosco.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
